Curbside Pickup and Hold Lockers Available


Due to a small electrical fire on Saturday, May 4, the Orion Township Public Library Main Branch building is closed for the next several weeks. Thank you to the heroic staff (and a very courageous patron!) who responded to the incident quickly and decisively. We are lucky that no one was harmed and that the building experienced minimal damage. During the next few weeks, we will be closed to ensure our facilities and materials are clean and cleared of smoke from the incident. While the library building itself will be closed, we will continue to offer the services we are able.

The Orion Center Branch will remain open during usual business hours: Monday-Friday: 10:00AM-3:00PM.

 

Curbside Pick-Up of Holdable Materials

The Orion Township Public Library Main Branch will offer curbside pick-up services during the following hours:


Monday-Thursday: 9:30AM-8:30PM

Friday-Saturday: 9:30AM-4:30PM


Patrons may place holds on library materials online via the library catalog, or by calling the library at (248)-693-3000. All library materials currently on the hold shelf will continue to be available for pick-up until Friday, May 17.

PLEASE NOTE: Your materials will not immediately be available for pick-up once you have placed a hold. You will receive an email confirmation to let you know when your materials are ready for pick-up.

Once you have received your confirmation email that your materials on hold are ready for pick-up, you may park at one of three curbside pick-up parking spots on the side of the building, then call the phone number on the parking spot sign. A staff member will then deliver your holdable materials to your car.


The OTPL Main Branch will not be able to provide printing or copying services at this time, but the Orion Center Branch has a printer to take care of your printing needs. COVID tests are available for pick-up as a curbside service at the OTPL Main Branch and are available at the Orion Center Branch. Notary services will not be available at the OTPL Main Branch but are available at the Orion Center Branch during operating hours.


 

24/7 Hold Lockers

You can also hold items in our 24/7 Hold Lockers to pick up library materials. When placing a hold at the 24/7 Hold Lockers, please be mindful to pick up your materials at your earliest convenience so more library patrons can utilize the lockers during the building closure as well.

STEP 1: PLACE A HOLD REQUEST

Select "24/7 Hold Lockers" as your pickup location. Hold requests can be made through our online catalog, mobile app or by phone.

STEP 2: YOUR ITEM(S) ARE READY

You'll receive an email or text message when your items are available for pickup.

STEP 3: SELECT "24/7 HOLD LOCKER PICKUP" TO BEGIN

Scan your library card barcode under the right light or type in your number using the touch screen, then type in your PIN.

STEP 4: SELECT YOUR ITEM(S) AND CHECK OUT

Select your items and choose "check out." Your assigned locker door will open.

STEP 5: TAKE YOUR ITEM(S) AND REMEMBER TO CLOSE THE DOOR

If you choose to get a receipt, it will print out from the back of the barcode scanning area.
