Notary Services
The Orion Library offers free Notary services by appointment with an authorized staff member. Please contact the library at (248) 693-3000 x532 to make an appointment.
What to Bring

Completed unsigned document(s). All documents must be signed in the presence of the notary.

A valid photo ID with signature for all persons seeking service

Witnesses if required
What to Expect

Notaries in Michigan are subject to state regulations.

Individuals seeking notary services are responsible for understanding their documents and identifying where signatures are needed.

Those requiring witness signatures must bring their own witnesses. The Orion Township Public Library will not provide witnesses. To serve as a witness, the witness must personally know the person whose documents are being notarized and must present valid photo identification​

Notaries cannot prepare or complete documents for you, nor can they give legal advice. Legal help for Michigan residents is available at Michigan Legal Help.
Library notary staff does not offer electronic / digital notary services and cannot notarize the following:

Real Estate Transactions: Mortgages, Deeds, Closing Documents, etc.

I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification forms

Michigan Vital Records: Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce (these are performed by State and County officials)

Documents written in a language other than English

Documents requiring a Medallion signature guarantee stamp (these are done through a financial institution participating in the Medallion program)
